St Luke's Music Society
St Luke's Music Society promotes an annual classical‚ jazz and poetry concert series in St Luke’s Church. Internationally renowned artists performing in a beautiful venue with superb acoustics. The wonderfully wide-ranging 2009/10 season opens with an Organ Gala and closes with The Big Chris Barber Band. The eight Saturday concerts also include the brilliant young trumpeter Alison Balsom who featured at the Last Night of the 2009 Proms; a two-guitar recital by John Williams and John Etheridge; the Flanders Recorder Quartet; Mendelssohn's Oratorio 'St Paul'; Jacqui Dankworth and her band; and Bach's St Matthew Passion.
